Formative Assessment and Self-Regulated Learning
This 90-minute webinar is based on the upcoming REL West report, “The Association Between Teachers’ Use of Formative Assessment Practices and Students’ Use of Self-Regulated Learning Strategies” (EE This REL West study examined survey results for more than 1,200 teachers and 24,000 students in three Arizona school districts about teachers’ use of formative assessment practices and students’ self-regulated learning in their classrooms. The webinar will describe the theory of action underlying the study’s research questions, explain and answer questions about the study findings on formative assessment and student self-regulated learning, and hare an example of how one participating school district has worked to promote two key practices highlighted in the study: facilitating student self-assessment and peer feedback.
